AEW Won’t Offer Deal To Major WWE Star, Career Almost Over
Natalya’s wrestling career has been a journey of highs and challenges, reflecting her evolution from a standout early run to a quieter, less prominent phase.
As a third-generation wrestler from the legendary Hart family, she made an impressive mark with the Stamford-based promotion since her debut in 2007, capturing titles like the Divas Championship and SmackDown Women’s Championship. Yet, over the years, her role has become more limited, with fewer main storylines and championship pursuits.
Recently, she has expanded her horizons by wrestling outside WWE, appearing on the independent circuit in promotions such as Game Changer Wrestling’s Bloodsport, NWA, and AAA in 2025. These projects showcase her enduring passion and adaptability, but also reflect the shifting landscape of her career, where she is no longer a central figure.
Tommy Carlucci’s Remarks on Natalya’s WWE Career and AEW Prospects
On the Behind The Turnbuckle Studios podcast, Tommy Carlucci discussed Natalya’s current career state in candid terms. He noted that at over 40 years old and with a long WWE tenure, Natalya faces limited options outside WWE. Big Tommy C stated that there is a very slight chance AEW might hire her if and when she departs from the Stamford-based promotion.
Carlucci said, “I don’t even think AEW would pick her up at this point in her career, Coach. She’s like over 40. She’s been around a long time. I was on the road when she was there. So that’s how long she’s been with WWE. So I don’t think she has very many outs if they don’t offer her 200 ($200,000), they give her cushy i think she’s gonna take it. Because I’m sure she’s made a lot of money back in her day. I hope she saved it well or financially did something with somebody because the rope is short for her career right now.” [10:44 – 11:16]
