AEW Has Not Offered Contracts To Big Name Indy Stars
Despite AEW being said to be close to signing two big name independent stars, it seems that Tony Khan has not yet even offered them a contract.
Michael Oku launched himself onto the radars of many fans in February 2024 when he wrestled Will Ospreay in the star’s last match before joining AEW. However, Oku had been impressing on the independent scene for several years and even made a cameo at All In 2023.
On August 11th, the rising star was back in action with RevPro where challenged MJF for the AEW American Championship. Although he was unsuccessful, Oku again impressed while proving he could go toe-to-toe with one of the best in the world.
Oku’s valet Amira ended up involved in that action as MJF threatened to nail her with the Tiger Driver before Will Ospreay made a shock appearance to make the save.
Michael Oku & Amira Not Offered AEW Deals
Reports suggested that Oku and Amira would be a part of AEW All In with many in RevPro said to be expecting them to sign with Tony Khan’s company. However, they were notable by their absence in Wembley Stadium and it seems there might be a good reason why.
Fightful Select reported that Michael Oku and Amira have not yet been offered deals by AEW. That doesn’t mean that they won’t be with many suspecting Oku lost his Rev Pro Undisputed British Heavyweight Title the night before All In to clear the way for a huge move in his career.
