AEW News: Jeff Cobb Status, Creative Process, When AEW Will Debut in California
Here are some news and notes on AEW according to PWInsider.
* As of right now, Jeff Cobb has only been booked for last nights and next week’s episode of Dynamite. Cobb is said to be a free agent and is expected to still work for ROH and NJPW as well. Cobb will have his first match in AEW next week on Dynamite when he faces Jon Moxley.
* The person primarily responsible for AEW’s creative since the beginning of the year has been CEO Tony Khan. Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega are said to all have input as well (they are all Executive Vice Presidents), but it is Khan who has had the final say and been steering the creative recently. The report also noted that Chris Jericho is also heavily involved in terms of wanting to get newer talent over more.
* AEW is tentatively planning to run several shows in California this June, which is the home of The Young Bucks and obviously the SCU group as well.
* The Double or Nothing pre-sale for tickets are selling well for the May event and it’s expected that the show will sell out when tickets go on sale tomorrow.

Matt’s Musings: AEW has been putting on top-quality shows all year, so I hope Tony Khan continues heading up creative. As for Cobb, he is an incredibly talented performer who will be an asset wherever he ends up.
