AEW’s Mercedes Mone Given Valuable Advice By WWE Hall Of Famer
Mercedes Mone is grateful for the advice given to her by a WWE Hall of Famer.
The year 2024 was a huge one for Mercedes Mone since she signed with AEW, captured the TBS Championship in her first month, and added the NJPW Strong Women’s Title to her collection as well.
To start 2025, Mercedes Mone became a Triple Women’s Champion by winning the RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Championship from Mina Shirakawa at the Wrestle Dynasty event at the Tokyo Dome.
Before that match at Wrestle Dynamite, Mone revealed that she suffered a panic attack because of how she got to live a lifelong dream by having a match in the Tokyo Dome.
During her WWE career as Sasha Banks, the company liked to push the story that Mone is a cousin of rapper/TV host/actor Snoop Dogg, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016 as a celebrity. Snoop Dogg has been involved with WWE for decades and will likely continue to have a role with the company in the future as well.
Snoop Dogg Used Some Interesting Language When Giving Advice To Mercedes Mone
Mercedes Mone appeared on the Sherri Shepherd Show where she talked about Snoop Dogg helping her throughout her career. Using some unique terms like pimps and ho’s, Snoop advised his younger cousin Mone the best way he could.
“He’s given me the best advice in my whole career. I remember going to WrestleMania with him when I was 16 and letting him know that one day I wanted to be a wrestler. He said, ‘Cuzzo, if you want to do it, I believe in you.’ So many times I’ve called him up and he’s told me before, this is advice for everybody, ‘Sometimes in life, you’ve gotta be a ho.’
I said, ‘What do you mean by that?’ ‘Sometimes in life, you’ve gotta be a ho. You’ve gotta put your head down, do your work, and do as good as good as you can until you become a pimp. You have to work so hard until you become a pimp. A pimp means to be the CEO of your life.’
I was, ‘This makes a lot of sense.’ Right now, back in the day, I felt like a ho. Now, with AEW, I’m the pimp. I’m the CEO of my life. I’m good.”
After a great run in WWE as Sasha Banks, Mercedes Mone will likely join her cousin Snoop Dogg in the WWE Hall of Fame down the road, but for now, she’s happy in AEW being a pimp and the CEO of her life.
