AEW’s Mercedes Mone Refuses To Let Words Affect Her
Mercedes Mone isn’t bothered by negative comments from wrestling fans.
The AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has been in the pro wrestling spotlight for the past decade. She gained fame as WWE’s Sasha Banks and decided it was time to move on from that company in May 2022.
Since joining AEW in March 2024, all Mercedes Mone has done is win. Mone is the current AEW TBS Champion and the NJPW Strong Women’s Champion. Mone has had ten matches in her AEW career and she’s won all of them.
Like any famous pro wrestler, Mercedes Mone has fans who love everything she does while she also has plenty of haters. Being hated comes with success and it can be difficult for some people to deal with it.
In an interview with The Takedown On Sports Illustrated, Mercedes Mone made it clear that she’s not bothered by the haters any more.
“Oh, things don’t get to me at all anymore (laughs). I learned a long time ago to not let words affect me, because the internet used to affect me so much. Just the littlest things… would ruin my whole day.”
“We have no idea who is on the other side of the keyboard. I don’t know if these are bots. I don’t know if it’s someone who looks like you. I don’t know if it’s a witch or rat or whoever, but at the end of the day I don’t care what you have to say about me.”
