AEW is hiring a new executive following the departures of several people to end 2023.

It has been reported by Fightful Select that All Elite Wrestling is hiring Kosha Irby to join the company in a potential COO (Chief Operating Officer) role.

Irby comes to AEW with a lot of experience as a former Regional Director of Live Events for WWE. In addition to that, Irby also worked for the Memphis Express of the AAF as President, Clemson Tigers as Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director and Chief Marketing Officer.

The move was made in part to replace the departures of Rafael Morffi, QT Marshall and Dana Massie, all of whom left AEW before the end of 2023. However, Tony Khan is reportedly open to working with them in the future.

Tony Khan Says That AEW Is Under Constant Attack

When speaking at ROH Final Battle media scrum, AEW’s Owner/CEO Tony Khan did his best to explain why AEW is under attack, but he tried to put a positive spin on it.

“To be AEW is to be under constant attack. You do a great show and the next day somebody’s saying something negative, you do five great shows in a row, somebody says something negative. You break the record for the most tickets ever sold for a wrestling show in the history of the world and somebody has something bad to say about it.”

“At this point, I don’t worry about it. We just need to go out and do great shows week after week like we did. We were the number one show on cable this week on Wednesday, we beat every single show on TV on Wednesday out of hundreds and hundreds of shows across hundreds of networks. And if we continue doing it, everybody here’s going to be in a good position.”

AEW Dynamite returns on January 10th in the company’s hometown of Jacksonville for a “Homecoming” episode of Dynamite.
