AEW Has “Major Plans” For CM Punk & Collision
With the clock ticking towards CM Punk’s eventual return to AEW, a new report has shed light on possible plans for the former AEW World Champion and what is in store for the new Collision show.
AEW Collision is the heavily rumored new AEW show that will air on Saturday nights with an announcement from Warner Bros Discovery on the matter expected sooner rather than later.
Fightful Select has reported that “major plans and a marquee matched” are already scheduled for Collision with CM Punk said to be looking for a “huge match” quickly after his return.
The report also noted that despite rumors that Punk is set for a feud with Chris Jericho, Punk has seemingly pushed for an alternative opponent coming out of the gate.
Collision will be filmed on Saturdays with dates already lined up – the company has a show scheduled on Saturday the 15th of July for Calgary, Alberta, Canada where the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will take place. However, there are also plans for the company to film shows on Wednesdays and Thursdays where required.
In regards to the suggestions of a roster split to keep CM Punk and The Elite apart, there won’t be a hard split but there are others who have been sidelined recently that believe the new show could give them a chance to return to TV as well.
