AEW Legend Was Genuinely Surprised By Andrade On Dynamite
Andrade is back in AEW.
The 36-year-old star was released from WWE in September 2025 due to a backstage disciplinary issue.
According to the reports, he was pulled from TV and sent home from a taping weeks before his release, and WWE decided to remove him from programming and the locker room.
He made his return to AEW on October 1, 2025, attacking Kenny Omega and aligning with the Don Callis Family. But then WWE hit him with a 12-month non-compete clause.
His legal team negotiated with WWE to shorten and eventually waive the non-compete. Fellow luchador Rush reportedly played a key role in resolving the legal situation.
Andrade Returns To AEW On First Dynamite of 2026
On January 7, 2026, Andrade made a shocking return on the first Dynamite of the year.
He revealed himself as the masked attacker in a trios match involving Jack Perry, The Young Bucks, and the team of Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona, officially rejoining the Don Callis faction.
Jim Ross also made his return to AEW commentary on the same show. He had been absent since August 2025.
Speaking about the Mexican star’s return to AEW on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross revealed that he was surprised to see Andrade on the show.
Talking about his new storyline, Ross added that the ex-WWE star is going to be a great addition to The Don Callis Family.
“I didn’t know he was even in the building, so, they kept him hid. He’s a good addition, he’s a player. He can work and he can work with anybody, and he looks good, classy-looking guy, and if he’s gonna be with Don Callis, that’ll help both of ‘em.”
