AEW Is The Reason For Jade Cargill’s Biggest WWE Problem
Jade Cargill arrived in WWE in September 2023 after officially signing a multi-year contract. She made her WWE in-ring debut at the January 2024 Royal Rumble.
Shortly after, she was assigned to the SmackDown brand and quickly became a prominent figure, securing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Bianca Belair and participating in high-profile matches at events like WrestleMania XL and Backlash France.
Jade Cargill’s start was indeed fire. But, as time passed, some in the audience and critics believed her popularity had faded somewhat, feeling she wasn’t as good as she used to be. Legend Konnan believes that a major reason for this is how she was conditioned and booked during her AEW days.
Jade Cargill Is “Messing Stuff Up” in WWE
Speaking on Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL, Konnan said that AEW didn’t really help Cargill’s level up inside the ring. He pointed out that AEW largely booked her in squash matches against indie wrestlers, which didn’t give her the experience she needed to carry longer matches or keep the crowd locked in for lengthy periods.
According to Konnan, this lack of development has made her current WWE run less impressive than expected because she hasn’t yet mastered how to work the ring like a seasoned pro or adapt creatively in matches.
I can tell she’s out of place. Her timing… Sometimes she messes stuff up. So, at the… But we have a clinical eye. We’re looking at.. we’re former trainers. You know what I’m saying?… People may not even catch what we’re catching. You know what I’m saying? But it’s very obvious she is. And part of the fact is that when she was in AEW, she was in 60 matches, and they all lasted like 15 seconds, [and they’re all against those indie girls that they all had on their roster, you know.] (From 3:34)
