AEW Announces International Championship Series, Kenny Omega To Face Winner
Kenny Omega is set for a huge match at AEW Revolution.
AEW Grand Slam Australia kicked off in fine style with the dream team of Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay defeating Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family.
After a wild 20-minute bout, the end came with Ospreay hitting a Hidden Blade from the top rope as Omega delivered a One Winged Angel on Takeshita.
Elsewhere on the show, “Timeless” Toni Storm won the Women’s World Championship thanks to a win over Mariah May. In the process, she became the first woman to hold the championship four times.
There were also big wins for Mercedes Mone, Kazuchika Okada, and the Death Riders.
Kenny Omega Set For Championship Challenge
During Grand Slam, it was announced that a new International Championship Series would begin on Dynamite.
This will see Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy square off on Dynamite with the winner going on to face International Champion Konosuke Takeshita for the title a week later. Whoever wins that match will then meet Kenny Omega at Revolution on March 9.
