AEW Interested In Recently Departed WWE Star
It seems that AEW is interested in bringing in a former WWE star, but still hasn’t pulled the trigger on offering them a deal.
Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize recently made a stir when they refused a match on AEW Collision and went home. Initial reports suggested the pair were unhappy at losing to Tay Melo and Anna Jay in their second AEW match, but they have since revealed they didn’t see the point in the match only being scheduled to last three minutes.
Hyan and Maya World took their place in the match, losing to TayJay. However, since then, Hyan and World have competed again for AEW, this time in a longer match where they still ended up on the losing side against Alex Windsor and Riho.
But it seems Hyan and Maya World are not the only free agents Tony Khan is keeping an eye on.
AEW Interested In Ex-WWE ID Talent
Fightful Select previously reported that AEW was interested in working with 22-year-old Zayda Steel after her WWE ID contract expired in early October. Steel has appeared several times on WWE Evolve, sharing the ring with the likes of Nikkita Lyons, Thea Hail, and Natalya.
Now, speaking on the Fightful Report, Sean Ross Sapp noted that AEW maintains an interest in Hyan, Maya World, and Zayda Steel, but that interest has not yet turned into offers on the table for any of the three stars.
Zayda Steel is not signed to AEW as of yet. Neither are Hyan and Maya World either, all of which are very close to being signed. I think I shouldn’t even say very close. I should say they made very good impressions.
Steel is yet to compete in an AEW or Ring of Honor ring, but has continued her career on the independent scene after her affiliation with WWE came to an end.
