AEW Hosting Matches In Europe To Promote Video Game
All Elite Wrestling is heading to Europe to promote their upcoming “AEW Fight Forever” video game.
Up to this point, every AEW show has taken place in the United States. The company has scheduled Dynamite and Rampage in Toronto, Canada in October, but other than that, they are staying in the US. Part of the reason why they’ve run only American shows is because of the COVID-19 restrictions that has prevented travel prior to the summer of 2021 for over a year before that.
The good news for European fans is that AEW will be sending some wrestlers to Cologne, Germany for the Gamescon 2022 trade fair.
The matches at the Gamescon 2022 event will take place to promote the Fight Forever video game that is currently available for pre-order. The video game is published by THQNordic and they issed a press release about the event.
“THQ Nordic and HandyGames will present 11 games on stage every day starting on Wednesday, August 24th until Sunday, August 28th – and yes, there will be t-shirts.”
“The shows will run between 11:00 AM and 16:30 PM each day and there’s something extra special from Thursday to Sunday: THQ Nordic is thrilled to be hosting the first-ever AEW Exhibition Matches in Cologne at 17:00 PM. Watch famous AEW talents fighting forever (well, maybe not forever) in our very own ring and bring incredible wrestling action right to you.”
At this point, AEW has not advertised any wrestlers appearing at the event yet. However, AEW does have several European wrestlers under contract like ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Malakai Black, Miro, Kip Sabian, Jamie Hayter, Anthony Agogo and others.
This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite will feature a huge Undisputed World Title match between AEW World Champion CM Punk and Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley to crown one final World Champion.
