AEW Hires Former WWE Employee
A former WWE writer is heading to AEW in a Vice President role.
It was revealed on February 15th that a veteran WWE writer named Jen Pepperman was leaving the company after working there since 2017. Pepperman was a Senior Writer in WWE and also a Producer in the company.
Less than one week later, Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso has reported that AEW is set to announce that Jennifer Pepperman has been hired as All Elite Wrestling’s Vice President of Content Development. It was noted that Pepperman’s primary role will be the development of content for live programming.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Pepperman is a close friend of Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks in WWE), who will be starting in All Elite Wrestling next month.
“She just quit WWE last week and those in WWE believed she was AEW bound because she’s very close with Mercedes Mone.”
Mercedes Mone is expected to debut on the AEW Big Business episode of Dynamite on March 13th in her hometown of Boston.
Following Pepperman’s WWE departure, on-screen WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce, who is also a veteran WWE Producer, said that Pepperman would be missed.
Shout out to @JenPepperman. I have always appreciated your creativity, passion, and the countless time you’ve given to help me and others backstage over the years. I’ll miss your energy, but I know you’ll be great wherever you may roam. My gratitude forever!!! ❤️🙏
