AEW Making Grand Slam Debut In Historic Mexican Venue
AEW is heading taking Grand Slam on the road again in 2025 as the company is set to make a historic debut in Mexico.
Earlier in 2025, AEW was forced to abandon plans for a stadium show as Grand Slam went international and headed to Brisbane, Australia. The event took place in an arena instead and saw Toni Storm recapture the AEW Women’s World Championship from Mariah May.
Now, Grand Slam is going international once again as AEW will make its debut in Mexico in the historic Arena Mexico as Tony Khan’s company partners with CMLL.
AEW Going To Mexico
AEW took to social media to confirm the news with a graphic featuring some of the company’s top luchador stars as well as Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega.
As announced by @FOXSportsMX, AEW will partner with @CMLL_OFICIAL to bring #AEWGrandSlamMexico to the historic Arena México in Mexico City on Wednesday, June 18! This marks the first time an AEW event has ever been held in Mexico.

AEW confirmed the venue for 2025’s Forbidden Door event as it will also make its debut in Scotland, with Dynamite and Collision set to take place in Glasgow.
Grand Slam first took place in Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City in September 2021. In 2022, the event saw Jon Moxley win the vacant AEW World Championship against Bryan Danielson after CM Punk was stripped of the title following his backstage fight with The Elite that overshadowed that year’s All Out.
