Why AEW Full Gear Ended In Complete Chaos

Jon Moxley AEW

Jon Moxley is an AEW World Champion with a target on his back, which was evident at the end of Full Gear.

As the only four-time AEW World Champion in company history, Jon Moxley is the top star in AEW yet again. This title reign is different from the others because Moxley is joined by his Death Riders group consisting of Marina Shafir, Claudio Castagnoli, Pac & Wheeler Yuta. Shafir can often be seen carrying around a briefcase that likely has the AEW World Title in it.

While most pro wrestling World Champions love to show off their title, Jon Moxley has kept his AEW World Title in a briefcase since he won it from Bryan Danielson at the WrestleDream PPV.

In his first PPV title defense at Full Gear, Jon Moxley retained the AEW World Title over Orange Cassidy. After Yuta hit Orange with a running Busaiko Knee that the referee never saw, Moxley hit his Death Rider DDT for the pinfall win.

After the match, Moxley and Yuta had a bottle that was used to clean the ringside area and they poured it on Cassidy. That’s when “Hangman” Adam Page went to the ring and hit Yuta with a chair. Christian Cage showed up with his contract in a case, attacked Moxley from behind, and hit a Killswitch on Moxley. Page picked up the contract and handed it to Christian.

At that point, it looked like Christian was going to “cash in” his contract for an AEW World Title match, but Jay White showed up and hit Christian with the Bladerunner. Claudio Castagnoli & Pac attacked White and got Moxley out of there. White left the ring and went backstage after the Death Riders group.

Jon Moxley and the Death Riders group were shown trying to leave in their truck in the parking lot, but there was another car that crashed into the truck. The Death Riders essentially stole another car that was nearby. They drove away. Darby Allin emerged from the car that hit the Death Riders’ truck, and he was shouting expletives at the Death Riders, wanting them to fight. That’s how Full Gear ended.

It has been reported by PWInsider that the chaotic ending was done that way to show that Jay White, Hangman Page, Christian Cage, and Darby Allin are among the men coming after Jon Moxley’s AEW World TItle.

Jay White, who beat Hangman Page at Full Gear, also went on social media to mention that he was coming after the AEW World Championship, which he has never won since joining the company.

Tony Khan Calls Jon Moxley AEW’s “Greatest Star Ever”

The AEW Owner, President, GM, and booker who is in charge of the creative direction of the company is Tony Khan. Recently, Khan praised Moxley for being AEW’s best wrestler during the company’s nearly six years of existence.

“Jon Moxley is AEW’s greatest star ever. Jon Moxley’s the four-time world champion. At the beginning of the launch of AEW, we ended our first-ever show with Jon Moxley standing atop the poker chips at Double or Nothing, and it’s been that way since.

He’s a four-time champion, he’s a force in AEW, and I really think that this match [against Orange Cassidy] is gonna be an awesome, awesome world title fight.”

The final AEW PPV of 2024 is called Worlds End on December 28th where the World Champion Jon Moxley could be facing one of the men who confronted him at Full Gear.
