AEW Expected To Sign Coveted Free Agent

Tony Khan AEW

A free agent wrestler has chosen to sign with AEW.

The end of Josh Alexander’s TNA career saw him lose to Eric Young in the main event of the February 13th episode of the show.

It was the final match for Alexander as a TNA wrestler after spending six years with the company while having reigns as a TNA World Champion and Tag Team Champion.

There was speculation that Alexander could go to WWE since new signee Jordynne Grace said she would see him soon, but it turns out that is not happening after all.

Fightful Select reports that Josh Alexander is expected to sign with Tony Khan’s AEW promotion. Alexander is repped by agent Barry Bloom, who has a lot of wrestling clients and some of them are working for AEW right now.

Alexander’s TNA contract expired on February 14th, which was one day after his final TNA match aired. Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that Alexander was expected to sign with AEW if he hasn’t already. There were also WWE sources who confirmed that he wasn’t signed there even though WWE said they had interest.

AEW Has Released Three Wrestlers This Week And May Add One More

This has been a very busy week for AEW In terms of talent news. That’s because Tony Khan’s AEW decided to release Ricky Starks, Miro, and Malakai Black from their contracts. All three men had different situations, but they were all free from their deals.

Ricky Starks has already debuted on the WWE NXT brand while Miro and Malakai Black are both expected to be back in WWE soon. Miro was known as Rusev in WWE while Malakai Black was Aleister Black in WWE.

Rey Fenix is another AEW wrestler who wanted out of the company since he hasn’t been used for a long time and intends to go to WWE with his brother Penta. It appears as though Fenix’s lame-duck status is about to end soon because he might be free from his deal as well.
