AEW Dynamite Grand Slam was a huge ratings success, and Tony Khan couldn’t be happier.

The September 20th edition of AEW Dynamite took place inside Arthur Ashe Stadium and served as the company’s annual Grand Slam extravaganza. In the main event of the show, Samoa Joe took on MJF in an attempt to unseat the AEW World Champion. Ahead of the bout, MJF declared that he would win by choking out the ROH Television Champion.

While Joe was dominant throughout the bout, MJF used underhanded tactics to retain his championship, choking Joe with wrist tape out of view of the referee and making good on his promise. When the piece of tape dropped, Adam Cole picked it up before the referee could see it, further cementing his alliance with his tag team partner.

According to a report from Wrestlenomics, Dynamite earned a total average viewership of 984,000 viewers with a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. This marks a significant increase from last week’s show, which had a total average viewership of 887,000 and a 0.31 rating in the key demographic.

SportsTVRatings pointed out that this was the highest-rated show in the 18-49 year old demographic since September 14, 2022, and the highest total average viewership since February 22nd, 2023.
