AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming is being broadcast live from the Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and is set to be a huge episode for the company’s fans all around the world.

Tonight’s special episode features two title matches, one of which will determine a new champion and continue the Continental Classic tournament. The Don Callis Family will be in action during the tournament, with both Kazuchika Okada and Kyle Fletcher scheduled to wrestle tonight.

AEW World Champion Samoa Joe is set to defend his title against Eddie Kingston, in what will be his first title defense since winning the belt from ‘Hangman’ Adam Page at Full Gear 2025.

A new set of champions will also be crowned tonight as the Timeless Love Bombs take on Babes of Wrath in the finals of the Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament.

Babes of Wrath vs Timeless Love Bombs Kick Start the show

An incredible night of action began with the first title match of the night as both finalists of the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship tournament fought it out for the top prize.

The Babes of Wrath were taking the fight to Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa as both teams put it all on the line to become the inaugural champions. However, Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron seemed like they wanted the win more as they were dominating large parts of the match.

The match came to an end as Willow suplexed Toni Storm on the outside to keep her out of the equation. Harley Cameron planted Mina in the middle of the ring before tagging Willow back in. She hit the gutwrench powerbomb on the Japanese star to become the first-ever AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions.

The Continental Classic continues with Jack Perry vs Kazuchika Okada

This was Perry’s first match in this year’s tournament as Okada looked to build on his victory over Pac last week. Perry has been embroiled in a feud with the Don Callis Family for the last few weeks now and was involved in a brawl with Okada on Dynamite last week.

Jack Perry came into the tournament to replace Darby Allin and inherited his zero points in the Gold League. He started the match on top, but Okada quickly showed why he’s the current Continental Champion and took control of the match.

The Rainmaker dominated much of the match against Perry, but he got back in the match after evading a Rainmaker from Okada. He locked in the Snare Trap, but Okada escaped by biting Perry’s hand before he returned the favour by biting Okada’s crotch after he tried to hit a tombstone piledriver on the Jungle Boy.

Okada eventually picked up the win after picking up Jack Perry and hitting him with a Tilt-A-Whirl Slam, before following it up with a Rainmaker to finish the match and earn three more points.

Jack Perry refuses to join the Don Callis Family!

Following a hard-hitting match with Okada, Jack Perry was confronted by Don Callis in the ring. He claimed that this was the first time in a long time that he had seen Okada pushed to his limit and was impressed by Jack’s performance.

He tried to offer the million dollars that the Young Bucks and Josh Alexander earned at Full Gear to Jack Perry in order to bring him on board the Don Callis Family. However, the Jungle Boy refused the offer despite being up against seven members alone.

He took the fight to the group but was quickly overpowered as he was vastly outnumbered. Shortly afterward, Luchasaurus rushed to the aid of his partner and drew the attention to himself, allowing the Bucks, who were equipped with steel chairs, to enter the ring from behind the Don Callis Family, and together, all of them pushed the group away once again.

Multiple brawls break out on the show

The newly-crowned TNT Champion, Mark Briscoe, was out in the ring being interviewed by Tony Schiavone ahead of his first championship defense against Daniel Garcia. Midway through his interview, he was interrupted by the Death Riders as Garcia, Wheeler, Yuta, and Marina Shafir made their way to the ring.

After exchanging words with each other for a short while, Briscoe punched Garcia, which would’ve led to more chaos, but Shafir and Yuta held their teammate back. Just as their segment was finishing up, the feed cut to the backstage area.

The Triangle Madness were seen attacking members of the women’s locker room in an attempt to draw out the AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander. She immediately rushed to the scene and took the group out single-handedly, albeit with the help of a steel chair.

Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland come prepared for The Opps

Following on the apparent theme of the episode, these two teams also broke into a brawl even before the match began. Hangman Page and Strickland came prepared with steel chains and used them to take out the Opps Dojo.

They started brawling with Powerhouse Hobbs and Katsuyori Shibata all over the arena, where Page even put Hobbs through the table. The match moved back into the ring, and the bell was rung, indicating that the match had now officially started.

Swerve and Page were being dominated after the match officially started, but got back in the match after they started working with each other. They took out Hobbs with a double team maneuver before combining together once again to powerbomb him through the table, which was set outside the ring.

Ultimately, they won the match after both of them hit their finishers on Shibata, who was left alone in the ring. Hangman Page hit him with the Buckshot Lariat first, which planted him on the ground, before Swerve hit the House Call to seal the win.

Kyle Fletcher faces Speedball Mike Bailey in the Continental Classic

This was a do-or-die match for Speedball Mike Bailey after he suffered a loss to Pac in his first match of the tournament. This was a tough ask for him, though, as he was up against the leader of the Gold League, Kyle Fletcher.

However, he surprised everyone with his performance and kept the former TNT Champion on his toes. He performed some amazing moves on Fletcher as he inflicted pain on the Don Callis Family member on the outside of the ring.

Fletcher came back into the match after he hit Bailey with a scoop slam on the barricade, injuring his back. He barely made his way into the ring and was met by a running punt from Kyle, which almost got him his win.

Speedball Bailey put up a huge fight against Fletcher, and not only did he kick out of everything he threw at him, but also inflicted pain on the former TNT Champion with some of his trademark, high-flying moves. He hit Fletcher with the Time Adventure, but he showed great resilience to kick out just before the three-count.

He then kicked out off the Ultimate Weapon, surprising everybody. Fletcher then seemingly won the match after he moved out of another Ultimate Weapon attempt, leading to Bailey landing directly on the ground.

He then hit an apron powerbomb and followed it up with a brainbuster inside the ring, but Bailey kicked out just before the three count. They exchanged surprise roll-ups after that, and Bailey surprised everyone.

He then pinned Fletcher’s shoulders after reversing a powerbomb attempt. He managed to get his first points in the tournament with just a minute to spare in the match.

The Elite return to the ring next week!

Earlier in the night, Don Callis challenged the Young Bucks to find a partner and face the Don Callis Family in the ring next week. He listed that his men, Kazuchika Okada, Konosuke Takeshita, and Hechicero as the ones who would challenge them for the million-dollar cash prize.

The Young Bucks asked Luchasaurus to be their partner next week in Manchester. However, he refused and told them to ask Kenny Omega instead. They tried to convince him with the prize money, but The Cleaner wasn’t interested in the money.

He stated that while huge money is on offer, he isn’t interested in money and would fight the Don Callis Family for free, marking The Elite’s return to trios action.

AEW World Championship bout ends Dynamite: Winter is Coming

Eddie Kingston faced the only double World Champion in the promotion’s history, Samoa Joe, to close out an extremely entertaining night of AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming. The two wrestlers have been embroiled in a heated rivalry in the last few weeks as Eddie even tried to stop Joe from winning the AEW Championship at Full Gear.

Both these wrestlers pushed the other to their limits tonight as it was an extremely important match for both of them. It was Joe’s first defense and he didn’t want to lose the belt so soon, while Kingston wanted to win the belt for his idol, Terry Funk, as it was the same night Funk won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1975.

However, that dream didn’t become a reality for Kingston, despite him coming extremely close to winning the belt tonight. He was about to hit the Uraken on Joe but got caught in the Coquina Clutch by Joe. He tried to hold on and get out of the devastating hold but eventually tapped out just before losing consiousness.
