AEW Didn’t Use Stuntman For Wild Full Gear Stunt

An AEW star was the one taking the risks at Full Gear.

The AEW World Title match at Full Gear was a wild affair from start to finish and even featured the surprise return of Willow Nightingale.

The match saw run-ins from PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, Rocky Romero, Tomohiro Ishii, and Kyle O’Reilly as well as the former TBS Champion. Meanwhile, the aftermath saw Hangman Adam Page, Christian Cage, and even Jay White get involved in the action.

But when all was said and done, it was Jon Moxley who retained the title with Orange Cassidy coming up short.

Darby Allin Risks Life And Limb at AEW Full Gear

After the match, the Death Riders finally escaped to what they thought was safety backstage. However, Darby Allin had other ideas. As the group arrived in the parking lot, a car seemingly driven by Allin smashed into their truck causing the group to run to another vehicle.

While discussing the event on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez noted that the car in the crash was driven by Allin and not a stuntman.

And so they take off in the car, and limping, covered in blood, out of the other car is Darby, and I can tell you, it wasn’t a stuntman. He was driving the car, and I think he damn near killed himself, because he gets out of the car, he’s covered in blood, and he’s supposed to get on the car, the truck that he ran into, and destroy it with a skateboard.

This guy is stumbling around. He had him get on the truck, and he slips off the truck. And he tried. He falls off the truck, and he finally gets up there, and he’s all woozy, and he starts hitting the truck with a skateboard. I was like, did he get a concussion? Like, did he hurt himself? Why did they let him drive the car? Why do they have a stuntman?”

During a recent interview, Darby Allin broke down the extreme lengths he goes to to make sure he can keep performing. During the conversation, Allin said he takes his recovery so seriously because he wants to be crazy for as long as possible.
