AEW Star Deonna Purrazzo Fires Back At Body Shaming
AEW star Deonna Purrazzo has invited online body shamers to “kiss this FAT ass.”
Former TNA Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo recently made her in-ring AEW debut after joining the company, defeating Red Velvet on the 13th of January edition of Collision.
Unfortunately, the internet and social media are riddled with some of the worst of humanity and where women’s wrestling is concerned seems to be where it really sinks to new lows. After seeing some body shaming comments online, Deonna Purrazzo took to social media to fire back with a powerful message of her own:
Oh, I’ve already seen it. I had a cry then I realized my worth is NOT determined by 1) my body 2) others perception of me. I am a 5x World Champion. I have worked with nearly every major company in the world. I am one of the greatest wrestlers in the world.
Furthermore, I just earned my bachelors degree. I am looking to start a Master’s program. AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, I have a husband who thinks I am beautiful whether I’m a size S or M. (I’ve never ever been a size S.) They are entitled to their opinion and I’m entitled to tell them to kiss this FAT ass.

Deonna Purrazzo Showered With Support
Purrazzo’s post led to an outpouring of support from within the wrestling community. Mickie James, Jordynne Grace, Trinity, Thunder Rosa, Piper Niven, Nyla Rose, Ruby Soho, Saraya, and countless others offered Purrazzo their support.
The Virtuosa then followed up with another post noting that her original message was sent to let people know that comments can hurt and thanked everyone for their support:
I tweeted because I thought it was important to let it be known that we, all of us, see the negative comments/tweets and it does effect us. We are humans too. Also because it’s important to show other women and girls that their value is not defined by their body.
Rather, their hearts, minds, & successes. I never expected this outpouring of love. And now I’m crying happy/touched/overwhelmed tears. This is the best side of this community. I’m choosing to be grateful tonight. Thank you
