AEW Debuting In New UK City As Forbidden Door Venue Finalised
AEW fans in the UK can now rejoice as Tony Khan has confirmed the venue of Forbidden Door and revealed their debut show in a brand new city.
When AEW invaded Wembley Stadium in 2023, records were broken as over 80,000 fans filed into the venue to watch MJF and Adam Cole walk out as best friends after a hard-fought battle for the AEW World Championship.
It wasn’t all good news, however, as that night proved to be CM Punk’s last in the company as Tony Khan fired Punk following his backstage confrontation with Jack Perry.
AEW returned to Wembley in 2024 but Tony Khan’s company was forced to miss out on the stadium in 2025, instead running All In Texas. London would not miss out, however, as Forbidden Door – AEW’s joint show with New Japan Pro Wrestling was heading to England’s capital.
AEW Heading To Glasgow
Now, it has been revealed that Forbidden Door will be held as widely expected in The O2 in London on Sunday, August 24. It was also confirmed that for the first time ever, AEW is heading to Scotland as Dynamite and Collision will be taped in the OVO Hydro in Glasgow on August 20. Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, May 2 but pre-sale begins on Monday, April 28.
As announced by AEW CEO @TonyKhan exclusively to @1AaronPaul of @BBCLondonNews, AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door will be held on Sunday, 24 August at the @TheO2 in London, UK!
