AEW Original’s Contract Ending As WWE Speculation Grows
AEW looks likely to have one name off the roster in the immediate future as a big name talent’s deal is set to end.
The future of the Lucha Brothers in AEW looks to be on extremely shaky ground with suggestions swirling that Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix are looking for a move to WWE.
After reports that WWE already made an offer to the Lucha Bros, AEW made clear that it was adding time to Rey Fenix’s contract due to time missed because of injury. That could see Fenix and Penta becoming free agents at different times putting paid to plans that they could debut together elsewhere in the near future.
Penta Heading For AEW Exit Imminently
Despite Fenix seemingly being locked in with AEW for a while yet, Fightful Select has now reported that Penta’s deal with AEW is set to expire in early December meaning that he’ll be a free agent and able to sign elsewhere barring any last-minute changes.
Penta El Zero Miedo has previously denied he’s spoken to any other company about a deal while still under contract with AEW.
Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix last wrestled in an AEW ring on the 19th of July 2024 edition of Rampage where they teamed to defeat the current AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party. During their time in AEW, the Lucha Bros held the AEW Tag Team Championship as well as the AEW Trios Title with their Death Triangle partner PAC.
