Start Time Changing For Upcoming AEW Show
An upcoming edition of AEW Collision will have an earlier start time due to a major event featuring another wrestling company.
All Elite Wrestling recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of their Saturday night TNT show called AEW Collision on June 15th.
While AEW Dynamite is considered to be the company’s “A” show, Collision has provided a lot of positive memories for fans of the company.
As a Saturday night show that runs for two hours starting at 8 p.m., Collision is in a tough timeslot because a lot of people are out on Saturday nights. It’s also not known as a big TV night compared to weekdays.
There are also instances where Collision goes head-to-head with WWE Premium Live Events because they usually air on Saturdays. That’s exactly why the Saturday, August 3rd episode of Collision is airing three hours earlier than normal.
Why Is AEW Collision Moving On August 3rd?
The TNT schedule states that Collision will air starting at 5 p.m. ET on August 3rd to avoid WWE SummerSlam, which is set to begin at 7 p.m. ET on August 3rd on Peacock or WWE Network. In place of Collision, TNT will air “Star Wars: The New Hope” and “Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back” in the usual AEW Collision time slot.
That August 3rd episode of Collision will actually be taped two days earlier on August 1st in Arlington, Texas.
With regards to All Elite Wrestling’s future on the Warner Bros Discovery networks, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that AEW was happy with the Dynamite ratings this week. Meltzer added that WBD and All Elite Wrestling are “close” to coming to a new television/media deal between the two companies.
