Jon Moxley remains determined to rebuild AEW.

In recent weeks, Jon Moxley has been a man on a mission. At WrestleDream that saw him take the World Championship, and end Bryan Danielson’s career.

On Dynamite, Moxley opened the show, laying down his new mission statement for the company. The champion explained that the original All Elite Wrestling dream has died, and he hates what the promotion has become.

Moxley went on to say that he’ll “burn down the forest to plant a new one” to take AEW into a brighter future. In the end, his message was clear and concise, “you work for me now.”

AEW Taping – October 17th, 2024

On October 17th, AEW rolled into the Adventist Health Arena in Stockton, California for Collision and Battle of the Belts. Both shows will air on October 19th.

During Collision, Ricochet got back to winning ways after losing out at WrestleDream, but his focus remains on the International Title. The former WWE star called out Konosuke Takeshita after getting the better of AR Fox.

In the main event, the new BCC defeated Darius Martin, Dante Martin, and Action Andretti to retain the World Trios Titles. After the match, Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir appeared to continue the beating, as a run-in from the Dark Order failed to make a difference.

  • House of Black (Malakai Black, Buddy Matthews & Brody King) won a trios match over enhancement talent
  • Ricochet def AR Fox — Ricochet cut a promo on International Champion Konosuke Takeshita after the match
  • Kris Statlander def Harley Cameron — Statlander challenged Kamille to a match and offered Mercedes Mone a front-row seat
  • Orange Cassidy def Bulk Bronson
  • Daniel Garcia, Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen def Premier Athletes
  • Jamie Hayter def Brooke Havoc — Penelope Ford cut a promo on Hayter and announced she was going after Hayter
  • Kyle Fletcher def Atlantis Jr.
  • AEW World Trios Champions Claudio Castagnoli, PAC & Wheeler Yuta def Darius Martin, Dante Martin & Action Andretti to retain the titles — Jon Moxley & Marina Shafir entered for a post-match beatdown on the defeated team. Dark Order tried to save but were beaten down.

AEW Battle Of The Belts XII

The biggest headline coming out of Battle of the Belts was a surprise victory for Anna Jay over Women’s World Champion Mariah May. The victory means she’ll now get a shot at the championship.

  • AEW Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada def Kyle O’Reilly to retain — This went nearly the 20-minute time limit
  • Brian Cage & Lance Archer def Jon Cruz & Jack Cartwheel
  • Anna Jay def Mariah May in a Women’s World title eliminator for a future title opportunity.
