Is 4-Time AEW Champion WWE’s Mystery Man? The Truth Revealed
A masked mystery man made a shocking appearance during the Men’s WarGames match at WWE Survivor Series 2025 on November 29 at Petco Park in San Diego.
The hooded figure in black climbed the cage late in the match, interrupting CM Punk’s pin attempt on Logan Paul after a GTS. He delivered a superkick and a Curb Stomp (Seth Rollins’ finisher move) to Punk, allowing Bron Breakker to spear Punk for the win for Paul Heyman’s team.
Multiple reports identify the attacker as Austin Theory, who was reportedly supposed to make his big return at WWE Survivor Series after being absent for months. However, some fans believe that the person beneath the mask could’ve also been 4-time AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.
The wrestling world recently saw Moxley pay tribute to his buddy Seth Rollins by using a Curb Stomp in his No Holds Barred Match against Kyle O’Reilly at AEW Full Gear. He again used the stomp on Konosuke Takeshita during the recent edition of Collision.
However, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has clearly stated that Mox is not the mystery attacker, reminding everyone that he is contracted to AEW till 2027.
It was a Jon Moxley stomp. https://t.co/ySNKAUoOwW

WWE Legend Believes Austin Theory Shouldn’t Be The Mystery Man
For now, the star that is highly speculated to be the mystery man in Austin Theory. However, WWE legend Dutch Mantell doesn’t want this to be true. He is against the idea of revealing Theory as the mystery man.
James Romero: People are thinking it’s Austin Theory, and I think it’s the going theory at the moment.
Dutch Mantell: I don’t think Theory would…how would Theory fit in there?
Romero: I don’t know because he’s been a tag team guy for like 2-3 years. He’s been absolutely nowhere, even sniffing a decent singles run for years, since Vince McMahon was there, really. In my opinion, it’d cheapen it.
Mantell: Yep. I agree with you there. [25:39 onwards]
