New AEW Champion Never Expected Success So Soon

A new champion in AEW has confessed that they never expected success so soon despite waiting years to claim their new title.

All Out was a huge night for AEW with Hangman Adam Page retaining the AEW World Championship against Kyle Fletcher. It was a good night for the AEW World Tag Team Champions, as well as Brodido retained their gold in a wild four-way ladder match. After that bout, The Young Bucks were confronted by a returning Jack Perry, who then reunited with Luchasaurus as Jurassic Express made their triumphant comeback.

It was not such a memorable night for Toni Storm as she lost her AEW Women’s World Championship in a four-way match, which included Thekla, Kris Statlander, and Jamie Hayter. Statlander borrowed the seatbelt pin from her old friend Wheeler Yuta to get the three-count on Storm and win the AEW Women’s World Title for the first time in her career.

Kris Statlander Didn’t Expect AEW Title Win

Despite commentary noting the match was Statlander’s first shot at the gold in four years, she claimed in a new video posted on social media that she didn’t expect to win the gold so soon:

I mean, I never thought, well, not that I never thought I’d say that. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. But I can finally say that Kris Statlander is the AEW Women’s World Champion, and not only that, I am the only person ever to have ever been the TBS Champion and the AEW Women’s World Champion. I mean, you wait so long for an opportunity like this.

You train so hard, harder than anyone. You listen to the right people, you go down the path you should have always been going down, you realize and then all of a sudden you’re back at the top and you’re on a list of elite people. So if Toni Storm, or if any of you watching this want a shot at this, you give Stat Daddy a call.
