A current champion in AEW is working with an injury ahead of their big title match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.

The AEW Women’s Title will be on the line at Double or Nothing on Sunday, May 28th when Jamie Hayter defends the title against Toni Storm. This will not be their first pay-per-view singles match against eachother.

At the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view in November 2022, Hayter beat Storm to become the AEW Women’s Champion for the first time.

Hayter and Storm are no strangers to eachother since they used to be very close friends as told by AEW’s announcers because they used to live together. However, Storm is a heel now that’s part of The Outcasts while Hayter is one of the most popular women in AEW, so they have been at odds for most of the last year.

Going into Double or Nothing, Hayter has a legitimate right shoulder injury that took place several weeks ago. In fact, Hayter’s last match was on April 19th, so it has been over one month since she wrestled.

During the latest edition of Fightful’s After Dynamite show, Sean Ross Sapp spoke about Hayter being hurt.

“Jamie [Hayter] is hurt, she is hurt. I’m thinking that this whole division looks categorically different in five days.”

“I see the winds of change coming here, and I think we are in for some major change in this division all around.”

When it comes to making a prediction for the Double or Nothing, Sapp seems to believe that a title change is possible.

“You got Jamie banged up, they don’t want people not being able to defend when they got two shows. So, I’ve been leaning towards Toni for a while – people are saying ‘what do you know?’ Nothing, I just think that based on what we’re seeing here.”

Considering Hayter has held the title since November, the end of her lengthy reign could be coming soon. Find out at AEW Double or Nothing.
