AEW Boss Tony Khan Breaks Down How Fans Influence His Booking

Tony Khan remains committed to listening to fan feedback.

On July 2, AEW Dynamite will take to the air for the 300th time, and naturally, the milestone is a cause of celebration and reflection.

At Dynamite 300, Mercedes Mone will also be celebrating for a different reason as she puts her TBS Championship on the line against Mina Shirakawa. The match will be Mone’s 1000th bout since making her debut back in 2010.

In an interview with TMZ Sports ahead of the show, Tony Khan discussed how fans have influenced and continue to influence how he books AEW. While Khan has faced criticism for paying too much attention to fans online, he doesn’t agree.

“They do influence it, the fans are a huge major influence on me personally and on AEW. I really believe in listening to the fans and the fans have been so positive about AEW in 2025. It feels good when the feedback is so positive and right now, the conversation around AEW is very positive. I think it’s the most positive it’s been in four years and maybe ever.

Right now, we’re having great trends. We’ve been able to grow the viewership quarter over quarter multiple quarters in a row. When the fan feedback is really positive, it feels good. I want to keep that going.

It feels like people really like what’s happening in AEW this year, the conversation has been really good and I like hearing what the fans have to say, positive or any kind of feedback — especially if it’s constructive or anything you can use to make AEW better, that’s good for us.”

Tony Khan Preparing To Welcome Back Top Star

According to a new report, Darby Allin could be just days away from making his AEW return. Allin has been out of action since taking part in the Continental Classic in late 2024. After being knocked out of the tournament, Allin immediately went on hiatus so he could train and ultimately climb Mount Everest in early 2025. A feat he accomplished in May.

As noted in the report, Allin is expected back “imminently,” with sources admitting they’d be shocked if he isn’t involved at All In on July 12.
