AEW Battle Of The Belts V Airdate Revealed

The next AEW Battle Of The Belts will air live rather than taped, and the date has now been revealed.

It was confirmed back in November that the fifth installment of this relatively new tradition would be coming. We now know it will take place at the Veterans Memorial Colosseum in Portland, Oregon.

Further to this, it has now been confirmed in the TNT schedule that it will air on Friday, 6th January. This also means it will air directly after a live edition of Rampage, which was the case for Battle Of The Belts IV however the previous editions had been pre-taped.

At present, no matches have been confirmed, however as usual every single match will involve gold being on the line.

The last edition of Battle Of The Belts took place in October, with all three matches seeing the respective title holders retain. FTR kept the ROH Tag Team Championships against The Gates Of Agony, Jade Cargill stayed undefeated when facing Willow Nightingale, and PAC successfully defended the All-Atlantic Championship against Trent Beretta.

Battle Of The Belts was only established in January 2022, so it seems that AEW is setting its stall out to have four specials a year, with one of them being set to kick things off at the start of January.
