AEW Facing Another Exit As Original’s Contract Expires
It looks like it’s all change again in AEW as one of the company’s original star’s contracts has reportedly already expired.
WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry has already revealed he’s leaving AEW when his contract expires with Tony Khan’s company. Ethan Page shocked everyone when he turned up in WWE NXT after his own deal with AEW expired. And now it looks like there’s been another exit as well.
Bodyslam has reported that Jake Hager’s AEW contract has already expired making him a free agent. The report notes that it was a mutual decision between the parties but not one that has been officially confirmed publicly by either side. Hager has already promoted that he’ll be facing former TNA Champion James Storm on an independent show in July at the old ECW Arena.
Jake Hager’s Time In AEW Over
Jake Hager was the big surprise on the inaugural edition of AEW Dynamite in October 2019 when he joined Chris Jericho, Santana, Ortiz, and Sammy Guevara in decimating The Elite to form the Inner Circle.
His time in the group led to Hager competing in the first-ever Stadium Stampede and Blood and Guts matches in the company. In 2022, Hager was also a part of AEW’s first-ever Anarchy In The Arena match as part of The Jericho Appreciation Society.
Hager’s last outing in an AEW ring came on the 23rd of February 2024 edition of Rampage where he lost to former International Champion Roderick Strong.
