The most recent open secret in wrestling has finally been confirmed as AEW announces Collision is coming to Saturday nights.

The show has been rumored for months now and will debut on Saturday, the 17th of June and the announcement touts the inclusion of “headliners” Thunder Rosa, Miro, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Andrade El Idolo. Miro and Rosa were shown on Dynamite heading to Tony Khan’s office after months of inactivity in the company. Collision will air live from 8 pm – 10 pm ET on TNT.

In a press release from AEW announcing Collision, Tony Khan notes:

“With the addition of ‘AEW: Collision’ on TNT, I’m extremely proud that a Turner network will be the home of Saturday night wrestling for the first time in more than two decades. The debut of ‘Collision’ is significant across numerous sectors including television, wrestling, entertainment and sports, and reinforces AEW as the bold property we envisioned when we launched in 2019.

“‘Collision’ will deliver live every Saturday night more of what fans and viewers tell us they want – athleticism, big personalities, exciting storylines and hard-hitting wrestling action, all of which have become synonymous with AEW.”

Collision is believed to be the new home of former world champion CM Punk who is expected to make his return to the company imminently. Punk was not mentioned as part of the announcement but Tony Khan made a point to note that the big announcement that he promised would be followed up on Dynamite – meaning Punk’s return could be made official by the time AEW’s flagship show goes off the air.

A recent report gave more insight into how the company plans on using Collision regarding a brand split with the belief being that any split in the roster will be a lot firmer than previously believed.
