AEW Announces Major 2026 Event In Australia

Tony Khan Smiling AEW

Tony Khan has announced that AEW will be back in Australia in 2026.

On February 15, 2025, AEW debuted in Australia with Grand Slam in Brisbane. The event was headlined by a famous World Championship win for “Timeless Toni Storm.” In the main event, Storm defeated her long-time rival to claim the Women’s World Title for a record fourth time.

As the company’s international expansion has continued, Grand Slam later headed to Mexico in June, and the event will continue to have an international flavour in 2026.

AEW Returning To Australia

Ahead of Forbidden Door, Tony Khan has announced that AEW will be returning to Australia for Grand Slam Sydney on February 14. This will be followed by a rare house show live event 24 hours later in Brisbane.

“February 14th will be AEW Grand Slam Sydney. We’ll have Grand Slam Australia coming to Sydney. We’re going to have house rules in Brisbane on February 15th.”

Kyle Fletcher expressed his excitement at the prospect of performing in the same arena where he attended his first wrestling event as a child.

“The arena that I first saw professional wrestling in, I was sitting up in the nosebleeds, the cheapest tickets possible, literally about three rows from the back, and I remember that night and just falling even more in love with it. So I think, yeah, when I walk into that arena, it’s going to be such a crazy feeling. It’s going to feel very full circle.”

Before the company can start thinking about Grand Slam, AEW has headed to London, England, for Forbidden Door. At the event, Fletcher will defend his TNT Championship against Hiromu Takahashi.

Meanwhile, WWE will also be returning to Australia in the coming months for Crown Jewel. The company’s short tour in October will feature the Premium Live Event as well as one Raw and one SmackDown taping.

It’s already been confirmed that John Cena will compete at the event as he closes on retirement.
