AEW All In Result Signals Big Problems For Ring Of Honor

Tony Khan AEW

Has one major AEW All In Texas result signalled another nail in the coffin for Ring of Honor making it to TV?

All In Texas was a huge night of action for AEW which was punctuated by Hangman Adam Page winning the AEW World Championship for Jon Moxley in a brutal and bloody Texas Death Match.

It was also a big night for Kazuchika Okada as he became the first-ever AEW Unified Champion, while Mercedes Mone’s win streak came crashing to a halt with Toni Storm retaining the AEW Women’s World Title.

It was also a big night for MJF and ROH Women’s Champion Athena, who won their respective Casino Gauntlet matches to ensure they’ll be challenging for world title gold in the future.

ROH Stars Heading To AEW

But Athena’s ascent being an AEW regular could be bad news for Ring of Honor – where she currently competes – in more ways than one.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Athena heading to AEW is yet another sign that Tony Khan has failed to find a TV deal for Ring of Honor:

The top ROH people are gonna be on AEW television. They made a point last night that Athena will be on AEW television all the time now, so for the people who were complaining that she’s great, and you never see her. Well, now you’re gonna see her regularly.

[…] She’s gonna be a regular on [AEW] TV which also tells me, and I think the fact that Chris Jericho lost the [ROH World Title] says the same thing: I don’t see a TV deal being that imminent [for ROH]. The reason it was put on Jericho was to help get a TV deal and they were talking to people. I don’t know what happened but the deal didn’t go through obviously.
