AEW Abandons Florida Base As Questions Raised

Tony Khan AEW

AEW has apparently given up its base in Florida as it moves a key operation out of state.

Since the company was formed in early 2019, AEW has been based out of Jacksonville, Florida. The company made Daily’s Place its home during the pandemic and still returns there for annual ‘homecoming’ editions of Dynamite and Collision.

But it seems that one key function in the company has now moved out of Florida.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that AEW has given up its storage facility in Florida to move everything to Nashville. Alvarez also questioned what that means for stars looking to return from injury:

AEW got rid of their Florida storage until and moved everything to Nashville, so there is no longer a training ring in Florida. This is notable because that’s where the wrestlers would go to work out and try to get cleared. Not sure what the plan is now.

AEW Suffering Injury Issues

Getting its stars cleared could be more important than ever for Tony Khan’s company due to its ongoing injury battles. Will Ospreay is likely to be out of action until well into 2026 due to serious issues with his neck. Swerve Strickland was forced to undergo surgery to fix knee issues that have kept him out of the ring for several months.

AEW was forced to make a major change to a title tournament after one competitor suffered an injury that meant they needed to be replaced.
