First Xavier Woods, now Kofi Kingston… The New Day is unhappy with Adam Pearce’s booking.

Xavier Woods faced Penta on August 18, 2025, during WWE Raw in Philadelphia. Penta secured the win after delivering his signature Mexican Destroyer to Woods. After the match, Woods was seen wearing a neck brace. Woods took to social media in the following weeks to blast Adam Pearce, expressing his anger and displeasure with Pearce for failing to ban the Mexican Destroyer.

Hello, my name is Xavier Woods, and I am a WWE Superstar. Our jobs are very dangerous, but precautions are taken to make sure that we are as safe as possible. But unfortunately, this past Monday I suffered a debilitating injury due to the irresponsibility of one Adam Pearce. A maneuver called the Pile Driver has been banned from WWE for years due to the extreme damage that it can cause to the vital areas of a competitor’s neck.

The most influential WWE superstar would think that my health and well-being would be more of a priority, but I’ll tell you why it’s not. Adam Pierce sent his masked mercenary to attempt to shatter every bone in my neck, all because he doesn’t want to give the New Day our well-deserved rematch for the Tag Team Championship.

Then, on the September 1 episode of Monday Night Raw, Woods teamed up with Grayson Waller and his New Day partner Kofi Kingston to face Penta and The War Raiders. He became a victim of another Mexican Destroyer that night, courtesy of the luchador.

Now, it’s Kofi Kingston’s turn to step inside the ring with Penta on the upcoming episode of Raw, which will take place on September 15 at MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Kingston confirmed the match-up with a tweet on X, blasting “tyrant” Adam Pearce for booking him against The New Day’s nemesis.

Kofi Kingston and Grayson Waller faced Pagano & Psycho Clown for the AAA World Tag Team Title but lost. It would be interesting to see if Kingston meets the same fate as his New Day buddy on Monday.
