Adam Pearce Adds Two Matches To WWE Raw
Adam Pearce has made his traditional Sunday WWE Raw announcement.
With Wrestlepalooza just around the corner, each episode of WWE television is taking on extra significance.
The company is looking to stack the card for the September 20 event as it kicks off its new partnership with ESPN. There’s also the small matter of the event taking place the same day as AEW All Out.
In the main event, John Cena will face Brock Lesnar for the final time, and earlier in the night, AJ Lee will return to the ring for the first time in a decade to team with her husband, CM Punk.
Elsewhere, Stephanie Vaquer and Iyo Sky will square off for the Women’s World Championship. There had been speculation that Vaquer was dealing with an injury, potentially placing the match in doubt, but she’s since claimed she’s ready to go.
Matches Added To WWE Raw
In a new video on social media, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that El Grande Americano would face Dragon Lee, and Penta would square off against Kofi Kingston on the September 15 edition of Raw.
It had already been confirmed that CM Punk and AJ Lee would come face-to-face with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. John Cena will also be in attendance.
The taping is set to be held at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, where Cena is a member of the Springfield College Hall of Fame.
John Cena will wrestle his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13 in Washington, D.C. The news came as a surprise to many, as Cena had been tipped to end his career in Boston.
