Why Adam Page’s Double Or Nothing Win Shocked Many In AEW
Adam Page stood tall at Double Or Nothing but his win came as a shock to many in AEW who expected something very different.
The 2025 Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament promised the winner a shot at the AEW World Title at the company’s first-ever stadium show in the United States. The final two stars in that tournament were Will Ospreay and Hangman Adam Page, who clashed in the final at Double Or Nothing.
Ospreay and Page competed in a hard-hitting affair that lived up to the pre-show hype. Both men borrowed moves from their own rivals with Ospreay nailing Kenny Omega’s V-Trigger while Page used Swerve Strickland’s Big Pressure to try and pick up the win.
In the end, it was a Buckshot Lariat that proved decisive as Adam Page picked up the win and the All In Texas title shot that goes with it.
Tony Khan Kept Adam Page & Will Ospreay In The Dark
Fightful Select has now given more insight into the match and how much of a secret Tony Khan kept the winner. The report noted that Khan only told Will Ospreay and Adam Page the winner of the match on the weekend of Double Or Nothing itself.
Page is said to have advocated for Ospreay to win the bout with Ospreay also believed to have pushed for Page to win. There was a feeling of shock backstage at the show as many expected Will Ospreay to pick up the win but instead it was given to Adam Page. It was also noted that Jon Moxley was leaning towards wanting to face Page at All In Texas but ultimately, the decision is made by Tony Khan.
Both Ospreay and Page were said to be fine after their hard-hitting match, and there was a massively positive backstage reaction to the bout.
