Adam Page has teased an appearance of a WWE Hall of Famer for an upcoming big match in All Elite Wrestling.

The rivalry between “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland has gone on for several months in AEW. Swerve is 2-0 in the rivalry, yet Page has re-emerged as a top contender for Samoa Joe’s AEW World Title while Swerve is in the mix as well.

On the January 24th edition of Dynamite, Adam Page and Swerve Strickland were informed that they would be in Dealer’s Choice matches on the January 31st episode of AEW Dynamite in New Orleans. What that means is they got to pick the opponents for the other man.

During AEW Collision on January 27th, Swerve informed Hangman that his Dealer’s Choice pick is Toa Liona of the Mogul Embassy group that Swerve leads. That’s an interesting choice because Liona is normally a tag team wrestler as part of the Gates of Agony team with Bishop Kaun, yet Swerve wants to go with him.

“Hangman” Adam Page Has A Hall Of Fame Opponent For Swerve Strickland

As for the former AEW World Champion Hangman, he did a promo saying he didn’t want to name his opponent before the match.

“Swerve, I get to pick your opponent, but nothing says I have to tell you who you’ll face. So, I guess you’ll have to wait the whole f’n show to find out!”

By saying, the “Whole F’N Show” in the promo, Hangman gave away that his chosen opponent for Swerve is WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam.

This means that out of every wrestler in the world that Adam Page could pick to try to beat Swerve, he opted to go with a 53-year-old part-time wrestler like Rob Van Dam. Interesting choice.

Rob Van Dam has a 2-1 record in AEW with both of his wins coming in tag team matches while his loss was in a singles match.
