Adam Page & Swerve Strickland Test Their Limits In AEW All Out Steel Cage Match
Swerve Strickland and Adam Page have dragged each other to hell and back and now at AEW All Out they finally got their hands on each other once again.
There is perhaps no more personal feud in AEW history than the one that has played out between Swerve Strickland and Adam Page. Strickland picked up a win over Page at WrestleDream in October 2023 but that only ignited the issues between the two men.
Strickland paid a visit to Page’s house, hovering over his baby as he sent a very strong message to the former AEW World Champion. They met again at Full Gear in a Texas Death Match which made headlines after Page drank Strickland’s blood but ultimately Strickland picked up another win.
After a hiatus from the company, Adam Page returned still resolute to destroy Strickland and at All Out he will get his chance when the two stars clash in a cage match.
On Dynamite in Milwaukee though, things took a devastating turn for Swerve Strickland. Earlier in the day, Strickland noted that he had bought the childhood house that had been foreclosed when Strickland was growing up.
The show was supposed to end with a contract signing between the two stars for All Out but Page was not in the arena. Instead, the video screen showed Adam Page at Swerve’s house as he walked through it berating his rival while pouring gasoline everywhere. As a desperate Strickland broke down in the ring, Page calmly sat on the lawn with a drink in his hand before setting Strickland’s home ablaze.
Swerve Strickland & Adam Page Go To War In Steel Cage
That led to Tony Khan making their steel cage match for All Out an unsanctioned lights out match meaning AEW would not be liable for any harm caused during the bout and it’s perhaps just as well.
At All Out in Chicago, the battle between Swerve and Hangman was a very physical one. It wasn’t about going for pinfalls to try to win the match. Instead, they were out there to hurt each other because it’s the most intense rivalry perhaps in AEW history.
Prior to the match, AEW ring announcer Justin Roberts announced that the only way to win was by knockout, pinfall, or submission.
After both men took a hellacious beating for over 30 minutes, Page was able to overpower his rival. Page used a steel chair to jab Swerve in the head with it. Page told him to beg for mercy as Page did a chair jab to the head. Swerve was laughing. Page pulled the gold teeth out of Swerve’s mouth. Page pulled a hypodermic needle out of a bag and put it in Swerve’s left cheek.
That led to the final blow as Page hit Swerve with a stiff chair shot to the head. The referee Paul Turner deemed that Swerve was knocked out, so Turner called for the bell. It’s a knockout finish.
Following the match, the medical team went into the ring to check on Swerve in the ring. Page left the ring with his jacket. Page yelled “YEAH” while on the stage as if he was relieved that this rivalry might be over.
HOLY SH*T!
