Adam Page Plays Dress Up After AEW Full Gear Challenger Named
Adam Page has embraced the Halloween spirit once again as he got one up on his Full Gear challenger for the AEW World Championship.
Adam Page retained his AEW World Title at WrestleDream when he was able to put away Samoa Joe. After the match, Joe seemed magnanimous in defeat, but that was all a ruse as he viciously turned on Page alongside Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs.
Since then, Samoa Joe has made no secret of his disgust at Page being the champion and that he wants to hold the top title in AEW once again.
Joe had his chance to earn another title shot on the Fright Night edition of Dynamite when he faced off with Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, and HOOK in a four-way match. In the end, Lashley chased Ricochet off as the issues between The Hurt Syndicate and The Demand continued, leaving Joe able to lock his old partner HOOK in the Coquina Clutch, forcing the tap out.
Adam Page Takes Out The Opps
After the match, Joe celebrated with The Opps when Tony Schiavone’s voice could be heard congratulating Joe and then, oddly, proposing a toast. Schiavone apparently dressed as the Phantom of the Opera in a callback to his WCW days, got in the ring before revealing that he wasn’t Schiavone after all, he was Hangman Adam Page.
Page kicked Shibata and Hobbs low before smashing a beer bottle on the head of Samoa Joe. This is not the first time Page has embraced the Halloween spirit to get one up on his opponents as he famously appeared as the Stay Puft marshmallow man to take out The Elite.
That's not @TonySchiavone24, it's HANGMAN ADAM PAGE!
