Adam Copeland Reveals Real AEW Intention After All In Return

Adam Copeland AEW

Did Adam Copeland really put all his issues with Christian Cage behind him when he returned to AEW at All In Texas?

Adam Copeland made his huge return to AEW at All In Texas to deal with the aftermath of the AEW World Tag Team Championship match. The Hurt Syndicate retained the title against The Patriarchy and JetSpeed while FTR watched on from the commentary table.

Towards the end of the match, Christian Cage was thrown into FTR by Bobby Lashley, which set off an unfortunate chain of events for the former TNT Champion. As Cage tried to take his group away from the impending hostilities, Nick Wayne turned on him, dropping his “father” with his own Kill Switch. FTR stood by as Wayne and Kip Sabian looked to take Cage out with a con-chair-to.

However, before that could happen, Adam Copeland came to his old partner’s aid, although not before posing for the crowd and getting his usual pyro for his entrance. Cope told Cage to go find himself, and it seems fans hoping for a reunion between the pair might be waiting a while.

Adam Copeland Not Looking To Save Christian Cage

On the July 16th edition of Dynamite, Adam Copeland explained his actions at All In Texas and had this to say when it came to whether or not he appeared to save Christian Cage:

There’s a lot of questions after All In, the first one being, did I come down to save Christian Cage? The answer is no, he’s an a**hole. From the second I set foot in AEW. He told me what I could do with the idea of he and I teaming together. Then, when I challenged him for the TNT Championship, he said he was gonna cripple me, he was gonna become the father to my daughters.

Then he hijacked my title match with Mox at Revolution, cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract, made it a three way, and got choked out. Even though The Patriarchy told him it was a dumb idea, he didn’t listen, and that’s when everything started crumbling around him. And he did all that out of jealousy. He could see anybody win the AEW World Championship, but he couldn’t see me do it before him.

I don’t blame Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne, Kip Sabian for what they did at All In. And the thing is, I told you Christian ver batim that what happened at All In was going to happen to you. But your ego is so inflated, you couldn’t see it coming. So all I can hope now is somewhere Christian Cage is pulling his giant cranium out of his ass.

Copeland then went onto reveal that his true targets were FTR, who put him on the shelf for months after betraying their former friend.

Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood were nowhere to be seen, but Stokely Hathaway appeared to inform Cope that after he brought Spike to the ring at All In, several complaints were made, and if he goes anywhere near FTR, he will be fired. Unfortunately for Stokely, he forgot to get the same protection for himself and ended up being the victim of a spear.
