Adam Copeland “Has To Go” After Sickening AEW Attack

Adam Copeland

The immediate future of Adam Copeland in AEW is hanging in the balance following a shock attack at All Out that left everyone stunned.

Adam Copeland has reunited with his old partner Christian Cage in AEW, where they picked up a win over FTR at All Out. However, that win came at a serious cost.

After the match, with Copeland handcuffed to the ropes, FTR dropped Cage with a stuffed pildriver before doing the same to Copeland’s wife, best known to fans as ex-WWE star Beth Phoenix.

Adam Copeland Might Not Be Back In AEW

On the September 24th edition of Dynamite, a video aired showing some of the aftermath of that sick attack as Adam Copeland spoke to Christian Cage. Copeland told Cage that the issue was now affecting his family, and as a result, he had to go and wasn’t sure if he’d ever be back. Cage responded that he no longer had a family, so urged Cope to take care of his. Copeland told his old friend that he did have a family as the two shook hands and Copeland quickly left.

Since Adam Copeland came to AEW, his time in the company has been punctuated by long absences. Copeland was forced to take an extended break when he broke his leg against Malakai Black. Earlier in 2025, he was written off TV in an injury storyline when he was originally betrayed by FTR. The Rated-R Superstar made his triumphant return to reunite with Christian Cage at All In Texas.
