Adam Copeland & Christian Cage Facing Legendary AEW Team At All Out
Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will team up at AEW All Out in front of their hometown crowd.
When Adam Copeland and Christian Cage agreed to team up before AEW-NJPW Forbidden Door in London, England, they decided first to address Christian’s issues with the former Patriarchy.
At Forbidden Door, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage teamed up for the first time in about 14 years since they were known as Edge & Christian in WWE. They teamed up to beat Killswitch & Kip Sabian in a competitive match that ended with Cope hitting a Spear and Cage getting the win for the team.
Since they had taken care of Cage’s old problem, they moved on to Cope’s problem during a promo segment on AEW Dynamite in Philadelphia.
FTR’s Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler were in the ring with manager Stokely as they berated AEW referee Paul Turner about how the illegal man pinned Dax in their AEW Tag Team Title match at Forbidden Door. When Turner refused to go back on his decision, Copeland and Cage made their presence felt.
After a brawl between FTR and Copeland & Cage, the two teams were separated by security. After that, Copeland informed FTR that at AEW All Out on September 20th in Toronto, Copeland & Cage will team up in their hometown in front of a very vocal crowd against the former 2-time AEW Tag Team Champions, FTR.
Adam Copeland Knows Wrestling Retirement Is Coming Soon
The duo of Adam Copeland and Christian Cage are boyhood best friends who are as close as brothers. They are also 51 years old, with each man turning 52 years old later this year. Most wrestlers don’t make it to their 50s as active competitors, especially when they’ve lost several years of their careers due to serious injury, but Cope & Cage have managed to keep going. However, they know it won’t last forever.
Writing on Canada on July 1st on Instagram, Adam Copeland mentioned it was the anniversary of his first match 33 years earlier, while also noting that he’ll retire from the ring soon.
On Canada Day 33 yrs ago I made my wrestling debut. In Oakland Raiders Zubaz and a pair of Converse. Nowhere to go but up. Since then, I’ve travelled the world. Literally. Everywhere you can think of. From Moose Landing to Monterrey, from Bloodvein to Bucharest. It’s been a long, fruitful, soul expanding, soul diminishing, amazing, frustrating, exhausting, exhilarating journey over 3 decades.
The best part? I hear every one of you when I blast out of that entranceway and sing Metalingus at the top of your lungs. It’s never been lost on me what a privilege that is. Australia I’m lookin at you! It won’t last a lot longer, so I’m gonna soak in every second. Thank you for coming along on this ride with me. #happycanadaday🇨🇦
