Shock Adam Copeland Comeback Causes Chaos At AEW Worlds End
Adam Copeland is a man on a mission.
In the Worlds End main event, Jon Moxley put the AEW World Title on the line against Orange Cassidy, Hangman Adam Page, and Jay White.
Unsurprisingly, the match was pure chaos with Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta getting involved as Christian Cage and The Patriarchy watched on from a suite.
In the wild final stages, Yuta hit White with a Busiaku Knee after Switchblade had laid out Shafir with a Bladerunner. Moxley followed up with a Death Rider as Castagnoli threw the referee back in the ring after Yuta had taken him out. But while Moxley covered White to retain his title, there was more madness to come.
Adam Copeland Is Back
After the bell, the Death Riders looked to continue the assault on White before FTR’s music hit. As Harwood and Wheeler arrived at the top of the stage, a “Rated FTR” logo appeared on the big screen and Adam Copeland made his return to huge cheers.
The trio rushed the ring fighting off Castagnoli and Yuta as Copeland came face-to-face with Moxley. The WWE Hall of Famer hit a Spear before locking in a cross-face with a piece of a steel chair until Moxley was finally pulled from the ring by Castagnoli.
As the show went off the air it was announced that Copeland and FTR would face the Death Riders on Dynamite Fight For The Fallen.
Copeland hadn’t been seen on AEW television since breaking his leg at Double or Nothing in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black.
Earlier in the night, Kenny Omega made his own surprise return coming face-to-face with Kazuhika Okada. In the minutes after the Japanese star won the Continental Classic, Omega was introduced to the crowd by Christopher Daniels before presenting Okada with the Continental Championship.
The staredown that followed left no doubt that the pair would meet in the ring once again.
Omega is set to return to action for the first time since December 2023 at Wrestle Dynasty on January 5th when he meets Gabe Kidd.
