Adam Copeland Cleared But AEW Return Not Imminent

Adam Copeland

Adam Copeland is one step closer to returning to action in AEW but it seems it will still be a while before fans see him again, and it’s not because of his injury.

At AEW Double or Nothing in Las Vegas, Adam Copeland retained the TNT Championship in a brutal Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Malakai Black.

The match featured all kinds of weapons being used but disaster struck when Copeland jumped off the cage and landed on his legs while delivering an elbow drop onto Black, who was on a table.

That cage spot led to Adam Copeland suffering a broken leg which required surgery to fix. Copeland then relinquished the TNT Title as a result and has not been seen in AEW since.

But it seems there is some good news for The Rated-R Superstar.

Adam Copeland One Step Closer To AEW Return

PWInsider has reported that Copeland is now cleared for physicality which could see him back in the ring relatively soon. However, the WWE Hall of Famer won’t be back in action until he’s finished filming for the second season of Disney’s Percy Jackson show which is expected to wrap in January 2025.

AEW boss Tony Khan recently noted he hoped to have Adam Copeland back in the ring soon. A potential January return could see Copeland back in time for AEW’s first-ever trip to Australia for Grand Slam in February.
