Adam Cole has opened up about his relationship with Britt Baker.

Britt Baker and Adam Cole had been in a relationship since 2017, long before they both arrived in AEW. However, in the summer speculation about the relationship went into overdrive after Cole noted he was moving back to his home state of Pennsylvania.

In September, Konnan also claimed the couple weren’t together, describing Baker as “unhinged.” However, the stars themselves declined to comment on the speculation until now.

Speaking in a new interview with Rick Ucchino for Sports Illustrated, Cole confirmed that the couple have broken up, although he didn’t discuss when they separated.

“We are no longer a couple,” Cole admitted. “But when I say that we both still love each other and are still friends and still so supportive of each other, that could not be more true.”

The former NXT star went on to say that they remain good friends despite the end of the relationship.

“I think the world of Britt”, Cole said. “I want her to be as happy and successful as humanly possible, and I know she feels the exact same way about me. We did decide to go our separate ways, but that doesn’t mean that she will not be an incredibly important part of my life.

Britt is absolutely one of my best friends. She’s someone that I love dearly and will always love dearly, and there is no ill will between me and her whatsoever.”

Adam Cole Tells Fans Not To Pick Sides

Cole added that he doesn’t want fans to “pick sides” or think he and Baker dislike each other.

“I don’t want anyone to ever think that me and Britt dislike each other. I think it is possible, in situations, for people who are in relationships to kind of go their separate ways, but still care about one another. The last thing I would want is fans to pick sides or anything like that.”

Adam Cole returned to AEW television at WrestleDream where he confronted his former best friend MJF. On the following episode of Dynamite, Cole continued to take aim at the former World Champion, laying the groundwork for a future match between the pair.

Cole has endured an injury-hit last two years having missed time with serious concussion-related issues and more recently a broken ankle.
