Ace Steel Breaks Silence After AEW Firing
Ace Steel has made some interesting comments following his second time being fired by All Elite Wrestling.
It was one year ago this month when Ace Steel joined CM Punk in an AEW locker room fight with The Elite’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks (Nick & Matt Jackson). Following CM Punk’s explosive press conference where he ranted about numerous things, The Elite weren’t happy with what Punk said.
The details of the fight revealed that while Punk was apparently throwing punches at Matt Jackson, Steel threw a chair that gave Nick Jackson a black eye and Steel also bit Omega on the arm at one point during the altercation.
Due to his actions in the fight, AEW fired Ace Steel, who worked for AEW as a Producer/Coach due to his experience in pro wrestling. Steel is also a close friend of CM Punk, who also helped train Punk to be a professional wrestler over 20 years ago.
Prior to CM Punk’s return to AEW in June 2023 leading to the launch of the new Saturday show Collision, Steel was hired back although he was not allowed to go to AEW events, per the agreement that was made at the time. There were also reports that Steel received “back pay” from when he was fired in 2022, which came at Punk’s request.
On September 7th, AEW chose to fire Ace Steel for a second time. This came about five days after AEW announced that CM Punk was fired with cause due to his latest fight with Jack Perry at AEW All In last month.
Ace Steel Posts Interesting Comment On Instagram
While CM Punk has kept quiet following his AEW release from one week ago, Ace Steel did offer up something of a reaction on Instagram. Steel shared a quote that said:
“Mishandling people, then avoiding communication, is not protecting your peace; it’s avoiding accountability.”
Steel reacted to that with this:
Ain’t that the f**kin truth!! LoL
