Why Absent WWE Star Won’t Be Back For WrestleMania 41
A popular WWE star will remain on the sidelines.
Asuka hasn’t wrestled since being defeated alongside Kairi Sane at Backlash France in early May 2024, as the pair lost the Women’s Tag Team Titles. The Japanese star had been dealing with a knee injury for some time and was eventually forced to take a hiatus for surgery.
Back in January, it was reported that creative pitches had been made for Asuka’s return to television, however, the Royal Rumble came and went without her. Furthermore, with WrestleMania just around the corner, there’s been no mention of the star or her potential return to action.
While fans can’t wait for the Empress of Tomorrow to be back on their screens, it seems they’ll have to wait a little longer.
According to a new report from Bodyslam.net, Asuka will be out for “at least a couple more months,” with her comeback likely coming sometime after WrestleMania. The report noted that while WWE was hoping to have the former champion back sooner, they are being cautious with her recovery.
It’s believed Asuka is progressing well in her recovery, despite WWE keeping her out of the picture for the time being.
Asuka Felt “In Danger” During WWE Absence
Also in January, Asuka posted a series of messages on social media telling fans to keep their distance. She explained that she wouldn’t be accepting any romantic approaches and had already consulted the police after feeling in danger.
Just weeks later, the star’s X account was hacked, but it’s since been recovered.
