Absent WWE Star Returns At SNME To Attack Cody Rhodes
The most-awaited WWE show of the year is upon us as John Cena graces the WWE Universe for the last time as an in-ring performer tonight in front of a packed crowd at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC.
The show offers a bittersweet moment to the fans as this is the last time they will see the most successful World Champion in WWE history wrestle, but they will also be treated to some exciting matches, making it arguably the biggest show of the year.
The event got underway with a high-profile Champion vs Champion bout as the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes took on the newly-crowned NXT Champion, Oba Femi, in the opening match of the night.

As soon as the match started, The Ruler began dominating the American Nightmare on his main-roster debut. Cody tried to get back into the match on multiple occasions but all his attempts were quickly thwarted by Oba.
In one of the highlight moves of the match, the NXT Champion hit a huge European Uppercut on Cody Rhodes to send him over the announce table, which ended up busting Cody’s right ear open.

The highly intense match between the two came to an abrupt end as Drew McIntyre interfered in the match and ended up attacking Cody Rhodes. McIntyre had refused to appear on last night’s epsidoe of SmackDown after being invited by Nick Aldis.
Following his involvement, both Cody and Oba worked together to take the former World Champion out.
