A top WWE name will be back on television before the end of the year.

After struggling with a knee injury in January, Seth Rollins finally took some time off following WrestleMania 40 and quickly underwent surgery. However, Rollins was out of action for just two months before making his return in June.

Once back on television, Rollins set about trying to win back the World Heavyweight Championship. Although he was unsuccessful, he also continued his rivalry with CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. That was until he was destroyed by Bronson Reed on August 5th.

Following the beatdown, it was reported that Seth Rollins would be missing some time as he was “banged up,” although he could wrestle if required.

It was done for injury reasons. I don’t know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries…

But Seth is not a bad situation like Seth is cleared. He could wrestle, but, you know, he’s banged up, and so it was a good time for him to take time off and do this.

Rollins is yet to return to television.

WWE Drops Hint On Seth Rollins

On September 17th, WWE announced the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14th.

Interestingly, Seth Rollins appears on the first poster for the event, hinting he’ll be back in action before the show.

Saturday Night’s Main Event launched in 1985 before being retired in 1993. It was brought back in 2006, but amid falling ratings and interest, it was shelved for a second time in 2008.
